May 2016 Newsletter

Garage Reminders
Please remember that your garage is not to solely be used for storage of items or for any other reason besides the parking of a vehicle (Rule 2 in your Lease).  If you have 2 drivers in your cottage, please ensure that one car is parked in the garage while the other is parked in your driveway.  In addition, garage doors are to be kept closed when not in use.

Lindy Lessons
Wednesday, May 4th, 1:30PM
All skill levels welcome!  Come learn how to swing dance from your fellow neighbor, Tom, right in the Welcome Center!  Please sign-up in the Welcome Center.  Poodle skirts not required.

Vision Presentation
Wednesday, May 11th, 10:30AM
Residents, family and friends are invited to join Dr. Judith Archibold from Ophthalmic Consultants of the Capital Region for a special presentation in the Welcome Center on how to keep and maintain great vision.  Bagels, donuts, coffee and juice will be provided.  All attendees will receive a 30% off discount card for Riverfront Optical at Pond View to apply toward the purchase of a pair of sunglasses.  Please sign up in the Welcome Center.

Wine and Cheese Tasting
Friday, May 13th, 6PM
Join other residents and friends at The Spinney gazebo to taste wine and cheese together.  Please bring a bottle of wine or some cheese to share with others.

South Pacific
Sunday, May 15th, 2:30PM
Cost: $20/person
Enjoy a performance of South Pacific at the Sand Lake Center for the Arts.  Please sign up in the Welcome Center.

Block Island Lunch & Tour
Sunday, May 22nd
Cost: $135/person
Sail away on the Block Island Ferry for a one-hour cruise to Block Island, Rhode Island.  Have lunch at the National Hotel located on the waterfront.  After lunch, enjoy a narrated 1-hour bus tour of the island and then tour North Light Fibers.  Please sign up in the Welcome Center.

Mini Golf Outing

Cost: $4.50/person
Challenge your friends and neighbors to a game of mini-golf at FunPlex! 

BBQ and Entertainment
Friday, May 27th, 12PM
Cost: $3/person
Enjoy a barbeque lunch and entertainment by “Pete and Friends” at the Edward C. Swartz Southern Tier Senior Center.  Please call (518) 477-6581 to reserve a spot for an event that is destined to be a lot of fun!

Resident Bible Study
2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, 6:30PM
Just a reminder that this study is open to all residents.  At the May 12th meeting, a new study will begin in the Gospel of John.  Make your plans to attend and learn of God’s promises that give us hope for today and eternity.

Resident Interest: Game Night?
A sign-up sheet will be included in the Welcome Center to gauge interest in groups that may want to play popular games.  If you are interested in a game night that would feature games such as cribbage, double pinochle, bridge, etc., please express your interest on this sheet.
