May 2017 Newsletter

Resident Clubhouse Use
Please feel free to stop into the Clubhouse whenever you would like!  Whether it be to have a cup of coffee with friends, read a book or play pool, we would love to see more residents using the space during the day.  We hope to have outdoor furniture for the patio in upcoming weeks once some of the outdoor construction subsides and look forward to providing more space to enjoy!

The Spinney at Pond View and A Still Small Voice 4U Inc. are pleased to present 3 acoustic folk concerts this spring in the Clubhouse.  ALL ticket sales for each concert will benefit a local charity.  Tickets at the door will have a suggested donation of $20, but Spinney residents and their guests can buy discounted advance sale tickets for just $15 in the Clubhouse.  Homemade treats will be provided to enjoy with the concerts:

May 18th: Rod MacDonald, benefitting Anchor Food Pantry in Castleton

“Pets on Parade” & Memorial Day Picnic
Saturday, May 27th, 1PM
Dress your pet in your favorite patriotic attire.  Why not go as twins?  Prizes will be given out for best costume!  Parade will be followed by a Memorial Day potluck picnic at 2PM.  Please bring an item to share!  Games will also be played like horse shoes, bocce, cards, you name it!  Sign up in the Clubhouse.

LOOKING AHEAD: Town Wide Garage Sale

Time to start that spring cleaning and get ready for the town wide garage sale the first weekend in June!  The Spinney portion of the garage sale will take place in the Clubhouse parking lot.  Please bring your own table for set up.

Healthy Bones for Life Exercise & Education Program TIME CHANGE
Thursday afternoon’s Healthy Bones for Life Exercise & Education Program will now take place between 3:30 and 4:30PM.

Resident Directory
Resident, Linda Kospa, will be spearheading the effort of creating a new Community Directory.  If you would like to be a part of this, please provide your name, address and/or phone number to Linda Kospa by calling her at (518) 465-3282 or dropping your information off at her cottage (6 Antwerp Drive, #5).  The new Community Directory will only be distributed to those residents who choose to provide their information.

Tying Up of Dogs on Property
There have been reports of many dogs being tied up to front porches, posts, chairs, and the like throughout the community.  Per the Pet Lease that all pet owners sign with The Spinney at Pond View, pets (dogs and cats) must be controlled by their Owner at all times when outside of their cottages.  Please ensure that this rule is followed as to avoid any damage made to your cottage, keep your neighbors feeling safe, and keep your pet within the community.  Not abiding by this rule will result in rescinding of Pet Leases going forward.

November 2016 Newsletter


Be sure to stop into the new Clubhouse and pick up your key fob to access the building outside of operation hours!  The Clubhouse is filled with activities for your enjoyment – come shoot a game of pool with neighbors or organize a movie night on the projector in the Media Room.  The opportunities are endless!  We will be hosting a Grand Opening party for the Clubhouse after the Holiday Party – most likely in January, but the space can be used and reserved!
Starting in December, all monthly Newsletters will be available in the Clubhouse, in the receptacles found throughout the community, The Spinney at Pond View’s website and via e-mail.  Please ensure we have your current e-mail address on file to guarantee online delivery of Newsletters going forward.

Sign up in the Clubhouse if you are interested in volunteering for a great cause this year!

Tai Chi Offering in 2017
We have contracted a YMCA instructor to teach a 50-minute tai chi class taking place on Fridays in 2017 in the Clubhouse.  This class will be a 10-week commitment and the more people who participate, the lower the cost.  To commit to this class we are asking for 12 people with the upfront cost of $50/person.  This cost will pay for the 10 weeks of classes.  Please sign up in the Clubhouse if you are interested!
